Just recently, I have had a number of request in my support inbox from various SubmitterBot users that have wanted to change/update the e-mail address for their account. With this in mind, I have successfully added a Change E-mail Address feature to the My Account section when a user is logged in.

If you’ve been paying attention whatsover to ‘things that are hot’ on the internet, you’ve run into Twitter. If you’re an expert in the field you might even have been developing some Twitter Apps. The latest news concerning Twitter app development could open up Pandora’s Box and flood the market with apps.

Firehose, the code name for Twitter’s data stream will be made public so developers can further take advantage of Twitter’s API. As it stands now there are over 50,000 Twitter apps on the market. There’s not telling what number this could rise to once the flood gates open.

If you’re reading this and develop apps for Twitter, might I suggest submitting your site/sites through SubmitterBot. While Firehose doesn’t release until next year, there’s no reason to postpone obtaining some inbound links to your Twitter App site.

As always, follow the standard steps to submitting links on SubmitterBot. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

This past week, software giant Microsoft released their latest operating system called Windows 7. This has been a big phenomenon since their prior release of Vista a few years back. With this operating system being so new, the tech world is hungry for resources to get comfortable, and dive deeper into this break-through operating system.

With this in mind, if any of you out there have any documentation, blogs, videos, or commentary relating to this new operating system, I would highly recommend submitting them to the directories included in SubmitterBot’s web/niche, article, and social-bookmarking submission lists. Directories are a great way for people to find resources around the web, and our fast and free mass-submission service can help you publish your site to these directories with ease. It is also an effective approach to gain new and fresh traffic to your site.

To start submitting your Windows 7-related site to the various directories that SubmitterBot has to offer, I have provided these steps below:

  1. After you have logged in, click on the Add New URL link that is located under My Account on the left-hand menu.
  2. Read more

This past week, a user was wanting to know what the article directory submission guidelines were for our site, since our service already has an existing web/niche directory submission guidelines page set up. With this premise, I would like to introduce you to SubmitterBot’s article submission directory guidelines:

  • Is it free? - Is your directory a free-listing article directory? SubmitterBot is a completely free submission service, and to help keep the process of article submission free is to include free directories when users are submitting their articles.
  • Is the submission URL like http://www.articledirectoryurl.com/index.php?page=submitarticle? For SubmitterBot to fully recognize your article directory in our submission list, the submission URL must have index.php?page=submitarticle as its submission page. A number of article directories on the web have this syntax, and that is why we want this method to work with our submission service.
  • No adult-related categories - To keep this service B2B and family safe, please make sure that the directory you submit does not have any adult/sex-related categories. This helps keep our quality service clean and safe for everyone to use.

If you have any questions regarding these guidelines or have any other general inquiries regarding SubmitterBot, please free to contact our support department via the contact us form. We would be glad to answer any questions that you may have to help make the submission of your business’ website(s) as seamless as possible.

Happy Submitting! :)

I would like to announce a new feature that has been added to SubmitterBot. Recently, I have had various support inquiries asking how to delete the business websites and articles that they do not want to submit anymore, and I have manually deleted them on my end. With this in mind, there is now a feature in place where you (the user) can remove the content associated with your account.

If you want to delete a URL and/or an article that you do not want to have included in SubmitterBot, you may now “Delete” them at the locations listed below.

    Web/Niche URLs:

  1. Click on the My URLs link, located under My Account on the left-hand menu.
  2. Click on the Delete button that is located under the Edit column of the website that you do not want to submit anymore.
    Articles:

  1. Click on the Add Articles link under the Article Submission section on the left-hand menu.
  2. Click on the Edit link under the Action column beside the article that you are wanting to remove. This will bring up the article editor.
  3. Click on the Delete Article button that is next to the Update Article button to remove the article that you do not want to submit anymore.

PLEASE NOTE: Once you have clicked delete on either the URL or the article that you want to remove, this cannot be undone, so please make sure, prior to deleting the article, that you want it fully removed from SubmitterBot.

If you have any questions regarding this new feature, please let me know via SubmitterBot’s contact form. I would be glad to answer any questions that you may have.

Happy Submitting! :)

As many of us are aware, the climate of the economy and the job market right now is not that appealing. Many focused and hard-working people have either been laid off or had jobs taken away from them. With this in mind, web/niche, article, and social bookmarking directories are great places to find job openings, and I have specified some reasons below. Directories are great resources because…

  • You are able to find jobs that you will not find on popular job search engines, such as Monster or
    CareerBuilder.
  • You are able to locate unique jobs that would otherwise required you to dig through endless listings on big search engines.
  • Find instant, user-submitted job openings that most search engines will take a long time to find and crawl.

If your business is hiring, SubmitterBot has tons of directories included within the types of directories listed above to help get your business noticed and also to help find the right candidate. All that you have to do is find the directories within our submission lists that have category names, such as: Careers, Staffing Agencies, Jobs, and Employment.

The directories included within SubmitterBot are eagerly awaiting your business’ submission for this niche. Submission to the various 548+ directories is completely free, so go ahead and start submitting your business’ website(s) today. You have nothing to lose, especially with the present economic and unemployment conditions at present.

Happy Submitting! :)

Lately, a number of people have contacted us for support with logging in and validation problems.
SubmitterBot is a completely free double opt-in service that requires validation from a person on the other end. With this in mind, I have listed a few tips below that may help your validation concerns.

  1. No Spaces in Username - When choosing a username for our quality service, please consider a username that does not require a space. The reason for this is that our database is not set up to handle usernames with spaces for security reasons. If you have already selected a username that has a space in it, any characters that are after the space will automatically be truncated (e.g. the username of john doe will be registered as “john”–without quotes).
  2. Check Your E-mail - Upon using SubmitterBot’s registration form, you will automatically be sent a confirmation e-mail at the address that you entered in the E-mail section of the form.
This e-mail will contain a validation link that, when activated, will automatically validate your SubmitterBot account and allow you to log-in to our quality directory submission service. If you are unable to find this e-mail, I would highly recommend checking your e-mail client’s spam and/or trash folders. Our validation e-mails do contain web content, and may have accidentally ended up in either place.
  3. Enable HTML - With the confirmation e-mail mentioned in my previous point, please make sure that you have HTML enabled in your e-mail client. This will allow you to successfully activate the confirmation link to allow you access to our site. If you do not know how to enable HTML, please consult your e-mail client’s help file which can be accessed by pressing F1. If you are using a web-based e-mail account (e.g. Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, etc.), there will be a “Show Images” button located either above/below the headers of the e-mail which will enable the HTML in our confirmation message.

If the above steps still are not successful in validating your account on SubmitterBot,
please contact me via our quick-and-easy contact form, and I will promptly troubleshoot
your account’s validation issue.

Happy Submitting! :)

There have been a lot of directory submissions that have been sent in as of late, and a small minority of these directories have been good directories, but do not fit SubmitterBot’s directory submission guidelines (which will now be posted on our directory suggestion form). Prior to submission of your directory to us, please make sure that your directory meets the following three guidelines:

  • Is it free? Is your directory a free listing directory, or do you have a free option on your directory’s submission page? SubmitterBot is a completely free service, and to help keep the process of submission free is to include free directories when users are submitting their sites.
  • Does it have a submit.php file? For SubmitterBot to fully recognize your directory in our submission list, your directory must have a submit.php file where users can submit their URL, description, e-mail, etc. If you have a CAPTCHA located on your submit.php file, make sure the CAPTCHA’s data information is stored in a captcha.php. If the directory that you are submitting is made by a CMS (e.g. phpLD), you will not have to worry about this, but it is something to good to check!
  • No adult-related categories - To keep SubmitterBot B2B and family safe, please make sure that the directory you submit does not have any adult/sex-related categories. This helps keep our quality service clean and safe for everyone.

Directory owners and lovers, I would like to introduce you to a place to share and gain knowledge about directories–not just iEntry directories, but other directories around the web. The place that I am referring to is the iEntry Directory Portal. The different tiers of the Directory Portal are:

  • The Blog - This tier is more focused on iEntry directories, but does update on outside directories from time
to time. This blog also gives updates of when iEntry directories will be down for maintenance, and of new directories entering our network. The highlight of this blog is the “Directory Spotlight,” a summary of a random directory within our network, specifying the directory’s focus and categories.
  • The Forum - This is a place to ask support regarding the various directories within the iEntry network in
the Niche Directories category. If you have any questions regarding our quality service, SubmitterBot,
there is also a category there for it too.

This forum also has various categories for non-iEntry-related directory topics under the Other Directories heading. These categories are:

    • Popular Directories - Discussion regarding other popular directories around the net.
    • Directory Submitters - Topics regarding directory submission services can be discussed here.
    • Directory Software - Discussion regarding installing and maintaining directory software such as phpLD, Joomla, etc.
    • Directory Announcements - Do you have a free listing directory that would you like to announce? Post it here.

This is just another way to get in touch with the directories that SubmitterBot has in its submission lists, and interact with other users from our quality service.

I know that it has been a while since I have asked the SubmitterBot community for directories, so I thought this would be an appropriate time. Our quality, semi-automatic, mass-submission website, SubmitterBot,
currently houses 518 web/niche directories, 9 social bookmarking directories, and 61 article directories. Even though these are diverse numbers, with some being low and some being high, there is no limit to the amount of directories our system can hold. We would be pleased to have the count of social bookmarking directories increase as well.

If you are the owner of a directory, whether it be a web/niche directory, social bookmarking directory, or article directory, your site is most welcome in our submission lists. All that you have to do is to use our service’s quick-and-easy directory suggestion form, where all you have to do is provide your name, e-mail, and directory URL. Once you have clicked the Send Mail’ button on the form, your directory will then be submitted for review to be included in your directory’s respective category.

Please note that we do not guarantee inclusion into our directory submission lists and make sure that you have a submit.php file on your directory if you are submitting a web/niche directory to our service.

Happy Submitting! :)
